Should it be Date + Time? Should it be DateTime? How is time counted even? How do you display time? I *love* this write-up. Don't often see a high-level "here's the problem space + here's a survey" for a whole family of APIs. Makes me want to take more notes.

Heh, I always understood that as: "write the readme first, then the code" — and this seems ever so slightly different. It's like personal notes, but published for everyone else to read
