Got Tide to successfully respond to requests on the plane. It's 🔥. I think things are shaping up well enough to put out a new release in the next few days.pic.twitter.com/D2ly4p7qYg

Lol, running the "hello world" example with --release enabled runs at 2.5x the speed of the Node.js equivalent. 144k vs 374k I was wondering how we'd fare, but this is above and beyond. This doesn't *at all* mean Node is slow btw -- it means Tide is fast enough already!pic.twitter.com/nllixPK0Av

So i just gave this a go and got something much different. Using node v12 vs rust 1.39 & tide 0.4.0, the results are very close. Which version of node were you using for your test?pic.twitter.com/55AXI6Kf2H

Oh haha, yeah now try running this against @fastifyjs ✨ — they run a different http impl which gives Rust a run for its money.

Oh! This is an old tweet. Sorry sorry. No yeah I was running my benches without release mode I believe. Out of the box Tide is faster than Node.js, but not faster than fastify.

I'll check fastify out. I've been using koa (with typescript) for the past year and it's noticeably slower but still fast enough for me. This screenshot is against my koa setup and it's about half of tide's speed.pic.twitter.com/lVf3qJbMiq
