This doesn't seem like it applies very much with `await` syntax because the await will always block *that task* at the await point until the asynchronous computation has run. If you've got a future that's not somehow awaited, then you just assume it may or may not be complete.

You can put a synchronous computation behind a Future that will resolve immediately though — effectively keeping it synchronous. I interpreted the question as asking what would happen in that scenario?
