I know this is a deeply unsatisfying answer and can be emotionally taxing but one of the best way to fight trolls is either ignore them or, depending upon the troll, nicely state your opinion and then don’t respond.
@stjepang can better explain what I mean w the 2nd bit of advice -
And also I’m so so sorry people are being jerks, that sucks and it’s not your job to justify anything to anyone in regards to your work
