[need more graph visualizations]

I get how to visualize trees. There's like 3-ish structures that do well here (flamegraph, flamechart, flamescope). But visualizing DAGs feels less clear. I mostly know of d3 force layouts, and git merge-trees. Neither feels like it quite hits the mark.

I have, but it's been a while — def feel like it gets the job done but I've never quite felt like it "nailed" it?

depends on the dag, for sure, e.g. git graphs work best for graphs that mostly describe a single path, with limited branching

graphs containing a lot of intersecting paths tend to break down

Yeah I think you're right. Perhaps I'm thinking about this the wrong way and instead of "visualize me a DAG" I should start thinking more specifically. Thanks heaps!

I also really like the "handbook of graph drawing and visualization" book by Roberto Tamassia which collects a lot of papers on the subject. (I have the book but also found this link after a cursory google & it seems accurate: http://cs.brown.edu/people/rtamassi/gdhandbook/ … )
