My hot take on tech is: it's a lot of fun to build things, companies tend to pay a lot for access to tech workers, but overall what we produce doesn't seem to be that useful

I often try to communicate value in numbers, not always possible, but helps people to quantify or relate to effort needed. But when value is a subjective feeling, becomes more harder, for instance simplicity or counterpart complexity; requires settle a common understanding.
