Ha, interesting. So my angle is there ought to be zero obligations involved when establishing boundaries. Say when interacting with someone who's, by their affiliation with a company, complicit in genocide, I don't think politeness ought to be a requirement in how to deal.

I don't know the specifics, but as you frame it, I agree. Though I think the more productive thing is to let the person know the reason you choose not to engage is because of that affiliation
