If Rust were a person, they'd be that friend that you have to put in a ton of effort to get close to, and who ostensibly wants to be friends with you but they just make it really hard.

I'm starting to get the impression that Rust puts a bit too much effort into hiding its complexity behind convenience, so as soon as an abstraction leaks, it's COMPLETELY INEXPLICABLE to newbies. Or maybe I'm too in the weeds trying to understand the recent efforts with async.

Ooph, yes, hearing you loud and clear. We've been working hard on making async Rust better, but we're still ways out from it being as nice as its synchronous counterpart. We all really (!) want us to get there tho, and we're making steady progress! But not there yet unforch :(

I'd love to help! I've been looking at your work and it seems really cool! Runtime seems *amazing* to work with and I'm so excited for all that stuff to stabilize.

Yay, I'm glad you like it! And thanks for offering to help out!! We'd love to get feedback on Runtime; especially from folks who are new to async. I def feel like we have a blind spot here, and learning more about people's experiences would be super helpful!
