Current status: flashing Ubuntu. Apparently Nix is on Linux 4.19 by default, and I *really* don't want to spend another week setting up Arch like I did last year. So off to Ubuntu we go!pic.twitter.com/2uMxuWM0gf

Arch / Manjaro both have the problem that they're not supported by most vendors, which means tools like BCC or printer drivers aren't available by default. So even if AUR works, it'll still be a pain for a lot of things I want to do. Ubuntu gets me up and running faster.
I have Arch/Nix/Qubes/Tails for tinkering but when I just want to get stuff done I go with Ubuntu. "Year of Linux on the Desktop/Laptop" is a meme for a reason. Maybe OSH and initiatives like the Librem will get us there but for now.
Never have dealt with any printer, so cannot comment on it.
