mostly, i expect this to upset people haha, but i do think it‘s true. we‘re terrible at defining ergonomics and i largely think its because it‘s a deeply subjective, moving target. come at me

I feel that's not untrue. But there's also something about "minimalism" missing. and consistency missing. Examples: - for x in y loops feel more ergonomic than for(;;i++){} - generics are still v tricky because `impl`, `<x as Type>` aren't allowed everywhere generics can be used

I guess "consistency" is better defined as "inner consistency" — how widely applicable are rules? I've been thinking about both NLL and async/await as significant events for ergonomics. I think if the change there can accurately be generalized, it'll be be useful to answer ur q
