How come no one is talking about the crazy overhead of running Docker on a Mac? Do everybody just have more RAM then they know what to do with? It's crazy wasteful and slow

I switched to Linux in the hopes of not having to deal with this kind of stuff ever again, but then found out Docker happily overrides tons of stuff locally, so yeah I think it's just them. Still holding out for lightweight hypervisor / wasm runtimes to replace containers.

Essentially: I think if we can get container tech to essentially be at the level of "self-contained executable" or "library" then it'll be really nice (: All those daemons is a bit much for me too.
