The one thing we couldn't figure out was how to create a sticky footer beneath the <main> section that would move down as the content grows. The only way to achieve that seemed to be to nest the footer inside <main>, and that's not great. Probs best not to call it <footer> then.
"How does this relate to Tachyons?" I'm sensing that this could easily be modularized, allowing you to use cargo/npm to pull application chrome off the shelf. Configurable through CSS vars. Tachyons / tachyons-variables can then be used to fill in the missing gaps.
There might be more abstractions possible once CSS subgrids become more stable (<90% browser support means it's not quite there yet). E.g. "npm install pinterest-cards-layout", "npm install de-stijl-magazine-layout", etc. All also configurable through CSS vars.
Anyway, in conclusion: CSS grid + CSS vars allows for some good code reuse, and I think that's cool.
