I quite like that people are bringing up that Rust, as a language, is almost feature complete. Just a few outstanding proposals that need to be implemented, but that's it. I find it very calming actually. Having a sense of "done" feels really nice.

Idk, I've not had great experiences in the past with languages that take pride in being feature complete, as if PL research isn't still ongoing.

I think it's possible for a language to acknowledge PL research keeps going on, but still pull the breaks a bit on adding new proposals. I'm more angling this as: "it's probably healthy to implement the backlog, and take a break to reflect on what we have before adding more".
