Learned a lot about Unix Domain Sockets over the past few days. They're basically local TCP servers, which seems really convenient. I heard there's an equivalent for windows, but it's a bit different. Would a shared abstraction on top of both make sense or is it *too* different?

I've been interested in this for a while https://github.com/softprops/hyperlocal … . The azure team forked this for windows https://github.com/Azure/hyperlocal-windows … it's on my list to backport to windows support to hyperlocal proper
