Found out yesterday that the Hashbrown hashmap library (port of Google SwissTable) is currently being moved into stdlib. There's also work for doing the same with parking_lot. I think it's pretty cool when the easiest thing to use also happens to be the best thing available.
Hashalgo on std currently is siphash. Fxhasher is faster, but hashbrown is generic over either, so they're choosing the path of incremental changes

Right, that's more similar to the numbers I recall seeing, and it all matches what I was already aware of then - I've been following all these projects, it's just hashbrown going into std I hadn't heard about before :)
