Now also printing exit codes in the case of an unsuccessful exit. Different exit codes are meant to have different meanings; I wonder if actually seeing what they are might help with debugging intuition. https://github.com/yoshuawuyts/dotfiles/blob/master/zsh/zshrc#L58-L59 …pic.twitter.com/xwIFH6bQ9f

Why the switch? I used to use zsh, but fell in love with fish

Zsh allows me to try out POSIX sh snippets from the command line, making it double as a shell REPL. It's closer to how I write scripts, so this makes it a lot more consistent (:

So it’s completions are on par? I hate having to look up how to do things in fish all the time

Yeah, completions are as-good, if not better! Also never figured out how to make "C-r" reverse search work in fish; but works as a charm in zsh. Installed these plugins from the Arch User repos, and then just sourced the files. Real easy to setup! https://github.com/yoshuawuyts/dotfiles/blob/master/manifest.toml#L44-L46 …

I did the same switch last year. These are some plugins that can bring most of the fish "trademark" features into zsh: - auto-fu.zsh - zsh-autosuggestions - zsh-completions - zsh-history-substring-search - zsh-syntax-highlighting
