I think picking up Rust when I did was a good decision.

It's a simple question, with a rather nuanced answer. I think the gist of it is that I'm tired about how standoffish the community feels Lots of paths to contributing (e.g. language, stdlib, corporate modules) feel rather closed off / require lots of time. It's hard.

Yeah, there's also this leading principle of "positive-sum thinking". Instead of accepting two apparent contradictions as-is, they try and achieve both. "low-level memory control without segfaults" "statically typed and productive" etc.
