I think picking up Rust when I did was a good decision.

It's a simple question, with a rather nuanced answer. I think the gist of it is that I'm tired about how standoffish the community feels Lots of paths to contributing (e.g. language, stdlib, corporate modules) feel rather closed off / require lots of time. It's hard.

Instead with Rust it feels like there's room to bring up ideas. Instead of being rejected straight away, i feel people will try to learn more instead. There's continued investment in process & transparency at the very top of the project, and it can be felt everywhere else too.

Now this doesn't quite answer if I'm "done with JavaScript".
I think the most accurate response I can give is that I've found a language where I feel more comfortable.
I think that comfort had gotten Rust as far as it has, and I want to see where it leads into the future.
