I think picking up Rust when I did was a good decision.

Instead with Rust it feels like there's room to bring up ideas. Instead of being rejected straight away, i feel people will try to learn more instead. There's continued investment in process & transparency at the very top of the project, and it can be felt everywhere else too.

Now this doesn't quite answer if I'm "done with JavaScript". I think the most accurate response I can give is that I've found a language where I feel more comfortable. I think that comfort had gotten Rust as far as it has, and I want to see where it leads into the future.

Nuance is good
So it sounds like you like that with Rust it's a little easier for you to contribute to "core" things. I can see that, JS is big Corp controlled. -
Yeah, there's also this leading principle of "positive-sum thinking". Instead of accepting two apparent contradictions as-is, they try and achieve both. "low-level memory control without segfaults" "statically typed and productive" etc.
