Hi Rust crowd, I've been wanting to integrate http://immutable.rs with some sort of parallel computing library for a while (ie. parallelised map and fold and the likes), do you have a preferred library for that?

https://docs.rs/faster/0.5.0/faster/ … has been looking rather neat. There's also another lib which I can't remember the URL of, but believe it was similar but also really good.

Is faster actually paralellising, though? I thought it was just about using SIMD to be, well, faster. Which, tbf, I should probably be looking into as well.

That's a really good question. So I don't know what happens at the chip level, but I've always thought of it as "batch processing at the assembly level". Agree it would be interesting to find out more though :D
