The fact people are so resistant to these wonderful tools boggles my mind. Why spend time trying to do this by hand when the computer can do it for me and better?

Heh, I have no answers here - but do have some fun snippets: - saw a stat recently that most people think tests are a good idea. - also included a stat that most people don't write tests at their jobs. - proptest is about being smarter about tests - proptest is not mainstream

2/ - rust is often compared to c++; "use it for the same things as c++" - a lot of people don't use c++, which means they might not have a use for it - the borrow checker has a Bad Rep; scary thing you need to "fight" - what is a "borrow", and why should we check for it?

3/ - All this combines into lots of things that are different. "New" and "different" are not the same thing. - Generally people prefer the familiar to the unfamiliar. - Learning unfamiliar things takes time. - Time is a resource which tends to get scarcer with age.
