Idk what S4 has done but the manga is pretty solid
think i realized what the problem is the art is great, soundtrack is great, story is great but most of the characters are very lacking it has twilight syndrome where the big main cast is bland and the background characters don’t get the backstory and development they deserve

It’s mainly eren and mikasa that ruin it for me. I adore armin, and I think Levi is pretty dry too(granted I haven’t watched his OVA) Connie Sasha and Jean deserve way more than they get
