people who don’t date with possible future marriage in mind: what’s the point? (not in a mean spirited way, i am simply confused)

I don’t guess I mean people who plan to stay with their partner either, I understand not wanting legality in the relationship. I mean people who go in not caring for it to last

Sometimes when you’ve been alone too long, you’re willing to settle for something temporary with someone you can’t stand just to have SOMEONE for a while

I let relationships last while they're fun, and just falter and dissipate or collapse into a different, more fun state when they're no longer fun. Sometimes a fun one collapses into a very unfun one on its own, but like...it's real life, you can't have everything

For some people, it’s better than being alone. So you just go for it and see what happens. Sometimes, you eventually accept each other’s flaws and it does end up becoming a long term thing afterall. It’s hard to know for sure if you wanna stay with someone from the start.

So I guess you just give it a try. And maybe it’s just me. But when I go into a relationship with marriage in mind, my expectations are immediately higher and often pretty unrealistic since this is supposed to be the very last person in my life. And that’s a recipe for failure.
