saw a blue check a while back saying that ATLA ruined western cartoons for those that cake after it and at first I was like “this is stupid” but now? I agree it set a standard of quality that no showrunner that came after it was driven enough to match

While I disagree that there haven't been works in Western animation that matched the level of quality that A:tLA had after it came out, I agree about the standards of quality thing to an extent. Comparing it to a lot of other shows makes them look so bad in comparison.

The new Thunder cats cartoon literally skips frame rates. You have low budget, then you have that.

Not to mention it happens quickly instead of over time + half the time that character ends up dying for the MC so we don’t get to enjoy the redemption
