real talk, does anyone even choose to homeschool their kids besides christian fundamentalist parents and antivax parents(who usually are also the former)?

I agree with Maw. My education was fine, but social skills were still lacking.

I guess I’m weird because I prefer the social experience I got over the shitty education Then again I took it upon myself to learn a lot of the stuff school lacked when I was at home

Strange. My parents specifically wanted to protect me from the dangers & influences of public school, so they took my schooling seriously. They finally let us go to public school because they thought we were ready (and because my mom couldn’t keep up with the curriculum anymore).

See, that seems to be a lot of what drives parents to do that. And while I get the sentiment, I personally think social skills are also really valuable
