I had a friend who was homeschooled because his mom was a former teacher before they moved to the area.
real talk, does anyone even choose to homeschool their kids besides christian fundamentalist parents and antivax parents(who usually are also the former)?

Maybe it’s just the fact I went to school in the America-loving Deep South but I still came out of high school and a year of college a staunch libertarian I feel like some burden of education lies on the kid in the later teen years

I was homeschooled until halfway through high school. Not sure if my parents are considered “fundamentalists”, but they were definitely Christian conservatives.

I don’t regret it btw. I got a way better education than the vast majority of my peers I met in public high school. The only true downside is that social skills did NOT come naturally to me, so I had to quickly learn shit when I finally went to a public school environment.

Here in Maryland, a shit ton of people. A lot of teachers refuse to send their kids to our schools. Which are some of the best funded in the country.
