After a long hiatus, I need to practice building and shipping products again. Starting today, I'll be launching 12 startups in 12 months, aka the challenge :)

There is a distinct "first day of school" feeling when entering a new coworking space. Awkwardly finding a seat, not knowing anyone, strangers glancing at you. Coworking spaces: how about in addition to free coffee and snacks, you also NOT trigger my elementary school PTSD

As an older coder (38) my biggest obstacle to productivity isn’t the beach, or booze, or women, or partying, or new ideas. My biggest obstacle is RSI 😅

In my 50s the AI civil war destroys most modern technology and web servers. A Fortran port of MySpace becomes the next big thing.

In my 40s all code will be written by my AI slave, while I laze by the beach all day.

Yup design work begins in Sketch but I tend to switch to code when designs are 60% complete and finish tweaking as I go. Code is all Ruby on Rails.

In my 20s I would code until 5am. In my 30s I wake up at 5am to code.

For my 12 startups challenge I’m doing all the design and code myself... but I’ve done everything from working in teams, to managing multiple teams, to being a solo dev.

If you haven’t already, get some experience working with a dev team and learn the process. Any team worth their salt can distill high level customer problems down into feature-level user stories.

I’m now beginning to think that Bali is a terrible place for digital nomads given that I’ve spent the last few days surfing, partying and writing zero code.

Instagram is down and I have looked up from my phone for the first time in 7 years. My neck hurts.

Yes, if I think I can execute better. First mover advantage is overrated. My tweet was more about my buzz being killed at the realization that my ideas aren’t original. Doesn’t mean I won’t follow through on them :)

When you think of a brilliant startup idea then you browse and find 17,000 people already launched the same idea.
