1) Yippy search is based on Watson AI. DDG uses old tech Lucene-Solr
2) Yippy has multiple indices. DDG does not have an index they port $GOOG results

One thing I recall Yippy once having (that I really liked) was it was only SE where I could easily set aside .com results & view only .org ones if I wished. Is that still possible?

Yes, in PC view on the top left hand side click “Sites” and it breaks down results for you.
