This is why I believe that the nearly year long lockdowns will be one of the biggest human rights violation stories of the 21st century. Like many other mass violations of history, it's not until those in power are booted that society comes face to face with what it has done.
When we look back at this in 10 years we are going to find out we did it way wrong.. Some of us knew from the start..
We will look back a realize these were the worst public policy decisions we have ever made.
So tell me, what would you have done? You are the President of the US, or the Governor of Massachusetts or California or Connecticut. And you wave your magic wand. What do you do? I understand what you are against, but tell me what you are for.
I think the answer is realize that it is a virus and lockdowns have never been recommended for previous viruses. So do what FL and SD did. Or GA. Try to protect the vulnerable while not shutting down society and healthy individuals.
Sorry but a fraction of what New York has had. And infections do not equal deaths. A pandemic is measured not by infections but by deaths.
As somebody that does not believe in broad economic shutdowns for indefinite periods, I do agree we need to compare death rates. I also agree it is too soon to compare. CA did bend the curve early on, but the mass beneath the graph is likely the same for ENTIRE duration.

Yes lockdowns don't work and is it all Cases or misleading Positive tests. If the test is inaccurate the case numbers are false
