Seems we have 2 housing crises in U.S. One is worsening crisis for low-income renters & exists in many cities. Second is crisis affecting many West and some East Coast cities, that hits up to middle+ income. Housing twitter's priority seems to be latter? (Putting helmet on now.)

Actually™, we didn't bother critiquing Saddam because everyone agreed he was a monster! Other lefties already agree that poverty, inequality, and rent burdens are a big problem, so why bother talking about things where we already agree?

But...YIMBYs do consistently advocate for things like more funds for low-income housing (SB 2, SB 3) and targeted streamlining for low-income housing (
