In these more suburban and rural counties, there will be no demolition of existing structures, but there may be conversions to multifamily so long as the existing structure meets current setbacks etc.

From equity advocates @Western_Center, they say they are not yet at support but are very glad to continue to be at the table working through these issues. They are grateful not to be opposing this bill.

Opposition is a mix of folks concerned about displacement and jurisdictions that believe they are building enough. Some folks express fears that the tenants protections in SB 50 will be insufficient. Sensitive Community amendments will be important to hopefully address concerns.
