although the text clarifies, to me it's unfortunate to suggest affordable housing can only be achieved by non-profits building new, dedicated affordable large buildings. It occludes other approaches such as rent support, inclusionary, acquisition, or subsidized small infill/ADUs.
I happen to think run-of-the-mill market rate developers could build what is reasonably considered "affordable" housing in SF. But the point is well-taken: upzone the remaining 88% of SF.
Doing activism on one issue does not preclude doing activism on all the other issues. Every time they accuse us of going down a slippery slope to all kinds of housing, the answer is yes: we intend to achieve abundant housing of all kinds.pic.twitter.com/A9Vl64kAzJ
