"How many trees will be planted? How many tons of soil will be removed? How many tons of cement will be poured?" "Environmental" concerns that do not address how jobs are ever further from housing and how that lengthens commutes...
People, don't worry. The soil is not the original soil. So it's ok to remove it.pic.twitter.com/HyfeU0WK93
Construction cost have skyrocketed, meaning that the previously opposed lower density project is no longer feasible. This project is ready to go. It costs too much to build the smaller project. Commissioner objects to the "profit motivation" of the developer.

"I've looked online and seen many things that are more appealing." Architect internally screams.
Concerns that people will not want to shop at the nearby mall. I kid you not. "They will not be comfortable shopping at that mall because they do not feel comfortable going back and forth with all that traffic."pic.twitter.com/6RjlQPDnw1
Letter from the town of Colma is not appreciated by a Commissioner. "This is the City f Colma dictating to Daly City! It is an insult! ...let me be on record, I detest this kind of letter." Guess he hadn't heard that we are all caught in an inescapable web of mutuality.
Nearby homeowners association opposes the project because it is “too massive” and “would impact the views." They admit it's “a small percentage of views, but views all the same.”pic.twitter.com/UpLZwMLqor

“If these people put this in, there is not going to be parking. …People have 2 and 3 and 4 cars. There is no way that this parking estimate is going to keep everyone parking there.”
“I know you’ve been listening and everything is parking parking parking... but I want you to think about our voices [in support of more parking]. It’s going to impact shopping at the mall. How much do you listen to our voice? Or do you just listen to the dollars?”

An undergrad student is upset that every time she comes back there are trees that have been cut down. They built a hospital and an in-and-out-burger, and that was bad because change is bad.
