What devs don’t understand about VR is that immersion for me is not “omg large screen” but “I am a powerful superhero”.

imo VR suffers a lot from setup time and mobile setups will be more successful purely on convenience. If my Switch takes 10s to get to a game but my headset takes 5m, I'll use the Switch. Beat Saber is the only game I play regularly bc its boot time is low and songs are short.

It's also why I lol at the idea of VR gloves, leg trackers, etc. If it takes 10min to strap in, lots of people will avoid it. Imo though telepresence and artistry/CAD apps are where VR will shine the most long-term, and maybe a few Realism Simulator or Cool Experience types

I find the most enjoyable games in VR are the ones where you easily forget you're in a game. Boneworks did this for me. It's not "immersive", it just feels "natural". And honestly, the natural feeling VR games are the ones I keeping coming back to. Beat Saber and Boneworks.

Not all VR has to be played standing up, waving your arms around, first person. While stuff like Beat Saber is awesome, sitting down with a controller is just as good, if not better. Check out stuff like Polybius, The Lost Bear and Statik as great examples.
