Big takeaway 2: 68% of RAISE funds will go to projects for transit, bike, and pedestrian improvements, up from 62% in 2021 and 22% in 2020 (Trump Administration). Only 14.5% of capital funds are going to projects purely designed to expand or improve bridges and roads.

The program will fund a large number of really beneficial bike/ped facilities: there are about two dozen major projects that will provide trails & separated bike/pedways. There are an additional 50 projects with complete streets elements.

It's exciting to see support for dedicated bus facilities, including: —Two center-running busways for the Boston region —A center-running busway (plus AVs ?) for Detroit —BRT improvements in Minneapolis

Overall, the Biden Administration's DOT is using its discretionary funding through this program to really focus on projects that improve sustainability & give people more mobility options than auto dependency. Quite a change from the Trump Administration.
