"CDR is a fantasy"
Removing just 1 GT of CO2 with #DAC direct air capture requires about 3700 terawatt hours of electricity, more than what 🇪🇺produces in a year. 1GT = only 2.5% of global annual emissions, but process emits between roughly 1.4 & 5 tons for every ton removed. 💀

got pulled into a meeting, but super grateful to for working with and me on this one. he makes a compelling argument against direct air capture tech, reminding us of what we need to focus on: cutting fossil fuel pollution and protecting Indigenous lands

let's remember how these issues are related & hold the movement accountable. there's so much unnecessary suffering in black & brown communities. it's not an accident. it's a choice govts make.
more can be done to protect folks—from cops or pollution. leaders choose not to.
