Bootstrapping and restoring state between page loads could be a interesting aspect.

My solution for bootstrapping and restoring state would be to render it to the DOM as a JSON-encoded string. Is there another solution? I considered window.localStorage but there's no way to write to it from the server.

I'll be breaking the age-old wisdom that Redux is the best way to manage state. I'm planning to present alternatives and weigh them against each other. The main takeaway will be: there is no one perfect solution; use the right state management tool for the job.

Synchronizing frontend state across multiple clients is tough
Off the top of my head, I would suggest connecting them via the server or directly (peer-to-peer) and either sending the newly updated state around or sending the specific actions/updates as they happen.

Some discussion of implications for memory allocations & garbage collection of the various alternatives, especially if immutability is a thing. If you are going to end up with a large (MBs), frequently changing tree of data, you'll want an architecture you won't regret.
