The press release linked in the tweet consisted of a single sentence and made a vague reference to “major” safety violations. “Minor” ones are fine to absolve, Council Member?
This was exactly my question. If we're concerned about how taxi drivers are being financially impacted by ride hailing services, let's address that. Don't give them a pass to violate the law, "minor" or not. That's the last thing we need.
And why is the taxpayer bailing out yellow cabs anyway? I guess this is what happens when Council Member Rodriguez receives thousands of dollars in campaign donations from the cab industry...
