Curious, as a resident who uses @car2goNewYork, how will this affect me?

In DC, Car2Go is allowed to use/park in residential permit zones.

I will pay cash money if there was public covered parking for bikes the way there is for cars (less the covered part). Seriously. You guys want people to bike commute but so many of us live in walk-ups or tiny apts. while any Joe Shmo can park their big ass car on the street!

Why should local residents with big metal boxes get priority over majority of neighbors who do not have one? Streets are valuable public space. Could be used for playing, sitting, growing/greening, connecting, active transportation instead of free private property storage.
-
Couldn’t many streets be reinvented to do all those things while also charging for permits for the metal boxes where such transformations wind up not taking place?

How does this work in an era where the
@NYPDnews almost never enforces parking laws? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@bradlander please support this initiative. It improves parking availability and traffic flow for those who choose to have a car and could provide a reliable source of funding for transit and pedestrian improvements for those who don't.Thanks. Permit should be $1k and usable anywhere in the city. Would be a new class of parking in high density neighborhoods
