LRT: The Upper East Side/East Harlem didn't get a downtown bike lane until the 2nd Ave. subway opened last year. But since 2nd Ave. mostly connects residential neighborhoods, it's not very useful for most commuters. This is an issue I am passionate about.

Biking is by far the easiest and usually the fastest way to get around Manhattan, but NYC's bike infrastructure is godawful. Very few protected bike lanes, cops and delivery trucks constantly stop in the unprotected ones, and there isn't nearly enough bike parking in Midtown.

Our neighborhood is about to shut down a lane that opened just a few months ago, I’m livid.

Disappointing that
@ydanis &@galeabrewer, two people who usually support street safety improvement projects, are trying to return Dyckman to the nonfunctional disaster it once was. Tell Ydanis how ya feel, Maggie! https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2018/04/19/bikelash-rehash-with-gale-brewer-and-adriano-espaillat/ … https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2018/04/17/ydanis-rodriguez-caves-to-bike-haters-on-dyckman-street/ …2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
