LRT: The Upper East Side/East Harlem didn't get a downtown bike lane until the 2nd Ave. subway opened last year. But since 2nd Ave. mostly connects residential neighborhoods, it's not very useful for most commuters. This is an issue I am passionate about.

@StreetsblogNYC. Admittedly don't live in Inwood. But after nearly a decade of community input, no reason to pull the plug on a new st safety project. Shouldnt time be allotted for folk to get used to the st, which provides safety to ppl walking & shopping on Dyckman above all? -
Inwood simply cannot thrive without new transportation alternatives and bikes/bike-sharing must be a part of that. It's too dense for existing systems and the current level of car-dependency is unsustainable.
