From schools, to transportation, to water, gas and power infrastructure, tonight's meeting gives us an opportunity to discuss greatest needs
The Inwood NYC convo was started because we face challenges with a depleting stock of affordable housing & a lack of good-paying jobs.
We will always welcome newcomers to our community but we must ensure those who lived through worst times can live here as long as interested
We can't put our heads in the sand & pretend gentrification hasn't been happening for last decade, we have to take action for our residents
So through this process, we aim to use land currently zoned for manufacturing that isn't happening and transform it into affordable housing.
At the same time, we aim to bring economic development and create a pipeline for our young ppl to get the jobs of tomorrow, right at home.
Through InwoodNYC, we've connected with over 2,300 community residents from all backgrounds to hear about what they're interested in.
I know there are concerns about this future, which is why this conversation is ongoing. I'll always listen to those with productive ideas.
