      Car free day is Earth Day, Saturday April 22 so my guess is not many, but on a Friday last year, many including @NYCMayor took other modes.

      Isn't the point of car-free day to discourage car-free transit on days other than just car-free day?

      It is to ENcourage car-free travel, yes. It's also to discuss what's needed so consumers vote w/ their feet on transpo, ie improving systems
