Additionally, they have extended the timeframe for when New Yorkers can apply to 120 days after the individual's death. This is an initiative I have calling the City to address since before the pandemic.
This was a conversation we have been having with Melinda Hunt of the @hartisland project and advocates who have also asked for additional burial assistance. Especially for the poorest NYers who are not able to afford the expensive costs of burial or cremation.
