Please make sure the malecón includes #Piers4boats and get-downs to the water. Otherwise it is just more #esplanadia. Ask @OurWaterfront about that blight on our waterfront. Make a pier for our #MaryWhalen to visit!

And the nearly certain potential to transform our main street 'commercial U' into a homogenized strip of big box and chain stores, and transform our lower income residents out of their homes. We don't need massive upzoning to get to our waterfront.

It’s a nice idea, but CD 12 already has more parkland than almost any other district in the city, plus the east and west side greenways. What we don’t have enough of? Affordable housing.
