People are pushed out by landlords, developers, and speculators that want empty apartments so they can raise the rent. Be courageous, tell the Mayor and EDC their rezoning is no good for your community and you are voting NO.

Of course, let’s blame everyone, but let’s include the gentrifiers, who are new to the neighborhood and are willing to pay more money to the landlords for those empty apartments. This is not politicking, this is about keeping our families in their homes. Hope you agree with us!

We need low income housing tied to the CMI ( community median income) and not luxury towers with 75% market rate units and 25% ‘affordable ‘ units tied to the AMI (average median income - which includes income from affluent areas like Westchester).

The real gentrifiers are the real estate vultures that you invite into the neighborhood to raise rents and kick people out. Socialist Alternative stands with the community for 100% affordable housing. Do you? Vote no.
