This is an incredibly bad idea that seems almost hand-crafted to alienate and enrage the DeviantArt userbase. Even if muddying the artistic waters by embracing AI was a good idea (it's not), requiring an opt-out instead of an opt-in was a completely unforced error.
It's not an error, it's on purpose. By making it opt-out, more people, especially people who aren't hearing about this or don't use their accounts anymore, go into the AI

Maybe we misunderstand the long game. Maybe WIX already has what they need from us, and they would prefer us all to go away now.
