It's probably obvious, but when Q talks about a "cabal of pedophile elites" it's not literal. They're talking about structures of power and oppression that "fuck over" the young generation. They're talking about the patriarchy. True feminists understand this.

Final rules for Vibecampers: - Cafeteria priority and seating is by follower count, this will be enforced. - AGI is in cabin 12. Do not let the AGI out, no matter what sweet counterfactuals it promises. - If you don't get laid see for a refund. - DO NOT LET IT OUT!!!

LessWrong is for people who believe in Eliezer's principles, not his ideas we had an idea once that principle convergence should lead to idea convergence, we called it Aumann agreement, but that idea didn't work in practice. so we *gave it up* and kept the principles instead

"isn't it cringe to call yourself Rat after EY said this and that..." "why doesn't EY say that and this to get better PR..." this is cult thinking. this is why *they* think *we're* a cult, they don't understand another model for an intellectual scene

sneers act like LessWrong is about indoctrinating people into Eliezer's AI doomerism but the highest karma posts year in year out for 15 FUCKING YEARS now are people like Robin Hanson, Richard Ngo, Paul Christiano etc. arguing and disagreeing with every aspect of EY's AI theory

people don't appreciate that Eliezer founded an intellectual community where the highest status thing one can do is to publicly prove Eliezer wrong do you realize the magnitude of sheer fucking wizardry here

but I remember Jocelyn: she was hilarious. I was so happy I got to see her perform, even though the asshole host got mad when he found out I "transferred" a guest. she clearly had a future in comedy and was going to graduate from crappy bringer shows and go on to bigger things

I had a great set, and it turned out to be my last one — I was never really going to be a professional comedian and the circuit of open mics and bringer shows and begging for 2 am spots on stage was just too soul sucking and I had a day job that wasn't compatible with all that

back in 2013 I did stand up at shows in NYC where you had to bring four guests to get on stage. I met this young comedienne who was a guest short this one time, so I called my last friend and told them to say they were there for Jocelyn Chia and not for Jacob so she could go on

when a guy is really funny people factor that into their love or hate for him or his persona, it can ameliorate a villain or make a paragon of something feel approachable but it doesn't work for women for some reason, they only get shit for jokes and none of the rewards

people don't know how to do discourse about women who are funny for example everyone who hates has to say she's Nazi or a shit actress and everyone who loves her talks about her looks or being "based" but everyone actually loves or hates her because she's hilarious

I don't want to hear about age-gap relationships before we settle the issue of gender-gap ones
Quote Tweet
We need to talk about gender gaps in relationships. If one of you is male and the other is female that's EXTREMELY problematic and quite possibly grooming as well.

your startup is acquired by a public company for stock, and their share price tanks on the announcement in purely financial terms, is this: A. good for you because it means they overpaid relative to your fair value even at the new share $ B. bad because you're losing money ?

no no I'm serious you make a compelling ideology with irreconcilable logical contradictions, upload it to people smart enough to run with it but entirely unable to go meta or think systematically, let them loose on social media — hilarity ensues how can any playwright compete

don't care about age gaps or girlboss feminism or w/e it's: can you do absurdist comedy with your friends but none of you are in on the joke? how does it feel to be the first woman who gets it but has to play along? is this discourse a way to create great art serendipitously?

horny on main imposes true discipline on a man you can't get away with horny if you're creepy, sad, angry, dishonest, etc. every stain on your reputation is magnified tenfold by it any big account talking about sucking on sweaty titties is a real man with unimpeachable ethics

think how much senseless domestic terrorism is prevented these days by letting edgelords get an audience for their ideas on social media posting bangers instead of packages that go BANG

Ted Kaczynski in 1995 explaining that even if you write something online it will have no impact because people will be distracted by the flood of mass media, and the only way to make an impact with speech is to kill people so that the Washington Post will publish you. ooooooofff

"well in Sweden they do healthcare like this and schools in Singapore are such and such" this gets you pretty far but, as Visa points out, you can't simply copycat and debug your way to greatness

a lot of modern nations are in the top 1% of human polities ever if you consider the sheer number of lunatic monarchs, endless violence, ecocide etc throughout history but I don't think any today are in the top 0.01%
Quote Tweet
simplification- usually to get to 1% you have to identify what the bottom 80% are “doing wrong” and then “just” not do that but to get to the 0.01% you have to identify something “right”, and emulating someone else doesn’t pay off here since their rightness is calibrated to them

it's so funny on 's pod Alex: I was a girlboss lib but then I grew out of it like many intelligent and self aware people do and now I'm inspiring the next generation guest: right. so as I was saying, since all women are retarded and driven entirely by pussy tingles...

"these are the same guy" that's a fun glib thing to say but they really aren't. for one, the latter camp is 99% single men. and the women in the former camp have ~zero interest in dating them which these guys interpret as "all women are brainwashed libs"
