The only reason online shopping for apparel works for me is that returns/exchanges seem too tedious, so I end up keeping things and wearing them. If I was trying them on in-store, I wouldn't have bought them bc they weren't *exactly* what I wanted and didn't seem *perfect*.

Removing places from the list is incredible tedious too -- the app crashes for every few places removed, and once the places remaining in a region are < another region, it starts jumping to the other region for every place removed. List view doesn't even show the address 🙄

The 'Want to go' feature of is surprisingly buggy. In map view it seems to default to the place where you have the most saved places, instead of around where you actually are. There's also no way to filter the list by region to make it easier to plan and edit the list

Whenever I come across something about Challenger I think of Reagan's line from his address and it gives me chills. " ..they had that special grace, that special spirit that says, 'Give me a challenge and I'll meet it with joy'. "

Been thinking of this tweet *a lot* since I saw it. Explains why companies (big tech especially) are full of these pseudo Chicken Littles who love to go on about how broken things are and how they are the only ones who can see it. They are almost always the ones with low output.

Why in the world can't we charge the food for purchase in a flight to the seat ?? It's such an odd missing optimization -- flights would rather hold everything up for people to take out their cards and swipe on an unreliable machine, than just note the seat # and add it later.

1 day is ~0.274% of a year. For some reason, I find this v basic calculation to be more actionable than the fraction of 1/365. is great, but it always seems to catch me by surprise, and doesn't help me consider the value of 1 day.

On vacation rn and enjoyed revisiting some sci fundamentals. Exploring subjects again on your own terms without the pressure of a grade is awesome. The surest way for me to kill my passion for a subject was for me to take a class in it, and I still don't understand why that is..

Oddly, people seem to find those who think #4 all the time to be hilarious, wise, and reassuring. This isn't some enlightened realization; it's cynicism, apathy, and stagnation. Such lack of curiosity isn't what makes the world work, so cut them out before you become one of them!

However, there are those I find myself gravitating towards for whom #4 is their frame of mind only in moments of weakness. Their default is a wonderful "everyone knows something, and I want to learn what that is". Going to be more deliberate about surrounding myself with them.

A teacher of mine once said that everyone goes through the same phases of thought as they grow up: 1) "my parents know everything" 2) "my teacher knows everything" 3) "I know everything" 4) "nobody knows anything" I think this is generally on point.

The only thing worse than outrage Twitter is self-aware outrage Twitter. "I can't believe we're talking about this again, but since we are, here's my take, and I swear unlike others mine is nuanced."

While I’m drinking Huel for 1 meal/day, my mom is out here recreating dishes from Michelin-starred restaurants. She even added her own touch of the pomegranate to improve on this one. Presenting the Avocado Banana Chaat:

It just reeks of status games. Pity that someone else who may have hustled with relentless optimism is losing the opportunity to a LinkedIn/Twitter badge. Some people will apparently prep hard for an interview if they can get what they see as a sabbatical/startups camp out of it.

But we still talked about the idea a bit, and now I'm getting decks to provide comments on, links to the product as it exists at this time etc. for feedback. And I find that I have absolutely zero motivation to spend any time on it due to the first impression I had.

Here's my first attempt at a sub-tweet, and I think it's worth it: Recently met someone who's starting a company via YC. At a brunch they openly joked that the company is going to fail, so they aren't even bothering to change their housing situation for the duration.
