I examine Google's close collaboration with America's national security apparatus—a relationship that goes back nearly two decades. Thanks to for unleashing Surveillance Valley on the UK and to for running the excerpt!

Unreported by US UK media, a new batch of documents leaked today reveals yet more about the UK govt funded covert influence operation that uses ‘independent’ journalists and ‘experts’ to propagandise UK govt narratives across the world

Curious if there have been any previous cases of Russian/Soviet intel wrongfully arresting & imprisoning an American citizen on obviously bogus spy charges? Can’t think of any off-hand. Plenty who’ve been sent home or denied entry on dodgy spy accusations, but jailed?

Dumb to say to the press—&, yes, wildly untrue & also insulting—but should this still be surprising? Hasn’t EFF (despite their rad staff) always been an unabashedly libertarian, pro-corporate organization?

nice historical view of populism. should remember populism was pretty much a done term until Greenspan re-entered it into the culture 2007(?), though he at least knew the historical context of it being anti-bank, unlike the rest who took it up

Rep. Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney, yesterday attacked "the fraud of socialism." Really? I wasn't aware that it was "socialism" that lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and got us into a horrific war that we should never have started.

What kind of anti-immigrant crap is this? I'm a political refugee, came to the U.S. when I was 9 and I still sometimes use the wrong article. I, and just about every other immigrant I know, have been bullied and shamed because of our imperfect English. Thanks !

Also funny that Bellingcat employs “citizen Stasi journalists” — turncoats who once fought against NATO and now fight for NATO. Real trustworthy.

Funny how is still considered a “citizen journalist” outfit when it’s funded by corporate death stars like Google and the Atlantic Council.
